Description: CCX at Al Sharara Field is a main accommodation object for all GOSPs in the field. It consists of several common buildings and numerous accommodation buildings. Goal of the project was replacement of existing nonfuncitional system with the new one from Siemens. Major chalange was lack of AsBuilt documentation for the preivious system. Site has main FC2080 panel with 16 loops, one indicator panel FC2020 in the fire station and additional FC2020 panel in the nearby Airport building connected to the main site using FO.
Technology used: Siemens FC2080 and FC2020 Sinteso fire detection panels.
Project Title: LISCO The New Bar Mill Maintenance

Description: Following system startup in 2017, working in the extreamly harsh industrial environment and without regular premptive maintenance, system degraded with several loops damaged and several extinguishing systems in fault state. Our goal was to bring system to the operational state by exchanging demaged equipment, fixing minor cabling issues and repositioning some XC10 units.

Project Title: Replacement of the fire detection system in West Mountain Power Plant

Description: Alshoala was tasked to procure equipment, install and commission a new fire detection system in the West Mountain power plant. The system is based on the latest fire panel from Siemens – Sinteso and fire detectors of the same series. Following procurement and installation of the system earlier this year we have done commissioning in October. This project will be followed by already contracted commissioning of DesigoCC, Siemens designated Fire detection SCADA system for graphical monitoring of the fire system in the Power Plant.

Project Title: Extension of DCS for monitoring fire detection systems

Description: Following our initial project from three years ago for the design and commissioning of the DCS system for monitoring fire detection and power management on 28 remote sites throughout Kuwait, we have extended this system with one more site. As before, the new system is based on Siemens S7-1200 PLC.
Technology used:Siemens S7-1200, HMI panels, 5 Siemens IPC, SCADA WinCC, DNP3, Ruggedcom switches, SCALANCE M874-3 and SCALANCE S612 for VPN.
Project Title: Commissioning of Siemens gas turbines at South Tripoli power plant

Description: Gecol has procured 2 gas turbines from Siemens, but on our first survey we found turbines not working and without software and configuration. PCS 7 system has not been configured properly so online support from Siemens could not solve issues on site online. Alshoala Engineering Company has reconfigured the terminal and plant level of the DCS system and enabled future works. We successfully commissioned one turbine and added it to the grid. The other turbine control system for water cooling was damaged in the fire. Our company erected a new shelter, procured equipment, installed and commissioned a new control system and connected it to the existing system. Once works on the cooling control system have been finished we successfully commissioned the second Siemens turbine.
Technology used: PCS 7, Siemens PLCs from S7-1200 series.
Importance of the site: Current power situation in Libya is very hard and additional 2×40 MW of power has a good impact on the welfare of all Libyans.
Project Title: DCS for monitoring fire detection systems in different areas of Kuwait

Description: Design and commissioning of DCS system for monitoring fire detection and power management on 28 remote sites throughout Kuwait. Systems is consisted of 28 RTU cabinets each equipped with Siemens S7-1200 PLC and needed IO and communication cards and control room RACK with redundant servers, historian server and 2 operation stations. Goal of the project was to interconnect non-Siemens fire detection panels that featured printer output to Siemens PLC, to process received data and to transmit results from PLC to the control room servers using 4G mobile communication. VPN from each site to the control room was established through 4G mobile network, running DNP3 protocol for data transmission. WinCC SCADA was used for remote visualization of events (alarms and faults from Fire detection systems), while each site had dedicated 17’’ HMI panel for local visualization. System also provided interconnection with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), informing client’s technical department in case of faults on any fire detection system. Client has possibility to access SCADA also through any other remote device using Siemens Web Navigator. As additional request and pilot project on a single site we have also connected power meter to RTU panel enabling power monitoring and visualization, improving power management of the site.
Commissioning of additional necessary software and hardware such as video walls, printers, time synchronisation, UPS and power redundancy was also part of our work to meet the needs of our client. Completion Certificate- ALSHOALA.

Project Title: Commissioning of fire detection system in the New Bar Mill

Description: Commissioning of fire detection system and 13 extinguishing control systems inside new bar mill plant. Fire detection system has 10 addressable loops. Nitrogen is used as extinguishing agent. Plant also has 6 water extinguishing systems that are controlled and monitored from the fire detection panel. Alshoala Engineering Company provided support for diagnostics of faulty components, its replacement, testing and commissioning of the system.
Technology used: Siemens Sinteso FS2060 FDS, Siemens XC10 extinguishing panels, different addressable and collective detectors.
Importance of the site: LISCO is major Iron and Steel producer in Libya. Startup of the New bar mill, as a huge new factory, was dependent only on the commissioning of the Fire Detection System.
